The Default Tension value in the Sceneplanning tab controls how sharply the path bends at a point. At +1, a sharp angle is formed between the lines before and after the point.
Values for this property range from -1 to +1. Toon Boom Studio applies these values to all control points and keyframes you create. Control points and keyframes you created before you changed these defaults retain their original settings.
